FAQs

What type of waste does the GohBio system accept?
- All organic materials are acceptable, such as meats, fish & vegetables (no bones); noodles, bread crumbs & rice; all kinds of fruit (no large seeds or stones)

- No inorganic materials, such as wrappers & packaging; styrofoam; dishes (crockery or cutlery); plastics (includes packaging, cutlery, dishes, etc.); meat bones; pineapple tops; fruit seeds/stones over ½-in in dia (such as mango, avocado, peach, etc.); corn husks or other heavily fibrous materials; flower stems; raw dough or flour; oil & fats; napkins/serviettes

- No stock, soups or large volume of water

Will GohBio accept cooked and raw food waste?
Yes. GohBio can accept all cooked and raw food waste, as long as it is organic in nature and meets the criteria explained for acceptable food types. Please note that for best results, the food waste should be varied. In other words, there should be a good mix of food and not too much of one kind, such as too much meat. If the site has a preponderance of one food type over another, such as a meat packing plant, etc., contact Mechline for further advice. There are other systems available that can better suit these applications.
